Today kind of SUCKS.  Last night they said… "SNOW SNOW SNOW!" 

well around 11 we got sleet for about 5 minutes and it stopped.  So I got up this morn at 5 like always, looked outside, green grass and wet roads but NO SNOW!  Jerks!  I fixed up the lunch boxes, checked the news, and every school AROUND us was closed but not us!  So I went and got up the kids.  Right as they sat down for breakfast, the phone rang.  It was the computer voice mail thingy from school.  NO SCHOOL TODAY.  OH great, thanks for waiting until the kids were up and ROWDY to cancel school!  Of course they would not go back to bed!

What all to blog about.  hmmm…

Well. ‘Me see…

oh.  we had a traumatic weekend at my house.  Sis got her first haircut!  After years of begging to get her haircut like daddys (military HIGH AND TIGHT!)  I caved and agreed to a trim.  I mean, the child’s hair tips where now green from falling in "the can" if she sat down in a hurry, it was time.  FOR A TRIM.   "Momma, please!  I don’ wanna look like Rapunzel!!!!"  So we agreed we would TRIM.   The time came, and when she realized I was really going to cut, she had to see comb and scissors before she actually believed me, she changed her mind!  So after working up MY courage to whack her mop, I now had to work up HER courage!  The more coaxing I did the less convinced I was, myself, that we needed a cut.  But in the end, we just held our breath and DID IT!

So here’s you a before after. It looks like a whacked a lot off but I didn’t,  I took these at kind of an upward angle. It also looks crooked, but it isn’t..  she kept trying to watch me take the pics afraid you guys would see her "pay-nees" LOL…

PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE: WATERDROP IN MOTION

So I have VOWED to "learn" my new camera.  I will master this thing, if it kills me!  In my googling effort to become a camerazenmasta’ I ran across, apparently what is a big craze.  Photography Challenges!  HolyMoley!  Thinking so many people were participating it must be easy, I jumped in head first!  When, oh WHEN will I learn?

The challenge was to photograph….
a water drop…IN MOTION!

LOL…

First of all, I had to read the manual to figure out how to get this camera off of AUTO!  And silly me, I thought after THAT that the hard part was done!  Do you have any idea how hard it is to capture a drop of WATER mid air?!  DO YOU!  Out of 272 pictures, I ended up with 5 keepers!  I think I stumbled into the ADVANCED challenges!  HAHAHA!  Here’s my keepers!

Camera: Canon G9
ISO: 80
Exposure: 1/800 sec
Aperture: f/3.2  (couldn’t get it to do the f/3 like used for the challenge)
Focal Length: 8mm
Flash Used: Yes
Post processed in Paint Shop Pro and/or Photoshop

the next one is what I consider to be, the best "drop" shot…

and then my favorite out of the entire shlew of pics.  Dont know why, but I likes it.
Not a drop in motion, but still…

what do you think?  I do alright? so how bout it?  I would love for some of you guys to do the challenge!  I know several of you bought the G9 just like I did!  Lets test em out together!  Come on!  Show me those drops!!!
