LOL…

Well, when I went to post the pics of my butterfly cards in the Aug Swap thread, I realized we had voted to make 2 style of cards this month. LOL..

So, I sat up until around 3am, working my wittle fingies to the nibs to get my second card done!  They turned out SOOOO cute!  I even remembered to make an extra one, so I would have one for myself! haha!

card for myself
Supplies:
Stamps: Girl and Words by Angel Company, Bugtrails by me.
Papers: Paperbilities basic solid cardstock in dark green, designed paper is no name brand.  Image Mats: heavy grade archival construction paper
Embellies: Butterfly by Favorite Findings, Flower by Scrapbook Accessories Inc.
Ribbon: Walmart.
Colored with: MarkIts, and Stamping Up pastels, Lettering traced with Metallic Gold marker from ZIG
Tools Needed: Craft knife, scissors, hole punch, ruler, adhesive, cotton swabs, glue dots

Mine is actually a little different then the one I made for the swap.  I used a few of the scrap papers left over from the other cards for some additional layering in the center.  Here is the cards for the swap.  Each one are different, I wanted to try to make their little dresses match the butterfly.

Also on the swap cards, I used a sunflower, not a daisy.  I thought the yellow of the sunflower, made the yellow accents of the bow pop a little.

Look at the depth :)

The little butterfly is actually a Button.  I found them on the sewing department at Walmart for like $1.50 a pack.

These presented a problem though, because the button hole was a rung on the back…  I realized, not only could I cut the rung off, but they were assembled in such a way that I could switch out the bodies for different color combinations!

Heres a little "show me" incase you set out to do this too…

just flip it over and apply pressure on the rung, it will pop out.

Using something sharp you can cut off the rung.

Just glue the body to the wings, and whalah.  Now you have a butterfly with a flat base that will glue nicely to your card.

I also LOVE bug trails on scrap pages and cards both, so that is your freebie today!  A set of 3 bugtrails, to spruce up your crafting!
