ahhhhhhhh…..
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008Nothing like finishing up the “have to’s” by 9am I tell ya. Here it is 9:10 and Im already OUT of the office and curled up in the recliner….
No treadmill today, Im still plotting my revenge from yesterdays attack. LOL… No, instead I think I’ll lay around and be lazy for a while. Its hazy and dark and cloudy outside. As my childhood friend Christopher Robin would say, “Tut tut, it looks like rain….” Oh stop, you know who Christopher Robin is. If you dont shame on your parents, and google is your friend. LOL…
So yesterday ended up being a pretty crazy day. Time kind of, LEFT. I looked up at the clock and it was already an hour past when we usually eat supper. I seriously have NO IDEA where yesterday went! Did I fall into a mini-time warp? My days tend to get a messed up when the hubby is off work….
At some point, he decided he wanted to go to Wal-Mart, so we did that. And it was so late already that we just swung by the border on the way home. So of course both the kids were “jacked up” after that. They sure love to eat out…. I am starting to think I could throw dog dung in a McDonalds bag and they would enjoy it with a smile on their faces… lol…
After we ate, and my work was done I decided to do a little crafting. How ever, after last night… I have decided ALL tutorials on the Internet should, by LAW, be required to include difficulty level labels. LOL.
My project of choice last night was GORGEOUS card on Melstampz blog. Seems simple enough.
OY!
LOL…
After making my buggy body,
and staring at her card for like a straight 20 minutes, I gave UP on trying to figure out where the fold was in her cardbase, and just winged it. So mine is “inspired” by hers, but ummm… roflmao….
so my supplies were pretty simple.
White Cardstock
Patterned Paper
Solid Cardstock
Thread
Beads
Crafting Wire
Tape
glue
scissors
bone folder
Pencil
Gel Pen
After I cut out my butterfly pattern, I stitched the solid and patterned paper together, and then attached my buggy body with both Thread, then reinforced with glue…
then for the mat, she does the “scor-pal grid technique”. I dont have a scor-pal, Im poor. So I used my handy dandy ruler and a bone folder. Then went over the score lines with my metallic silver pen. Then, Her card has over 100 knots in it. UMMM.. I have a life so…using my needle and thread I sewed on some silver beads instead, lol.
Heres the back of the mat. You can see where I sewed on the beads, then held the thread in place with tape so they wouldn’t loosen back up and fall off.
Once that was done, it was just a matter of assembling all my pieces.
Here’s a better view from some different angles.
Anyway, 3 hours or so later… tadaaa. LOL…
As aggravated as I was getting last night, I was still happy to be cutting away and creating. LOL.. Bring on the next project! woohoo!
I love the layered beaded butterfly, so I made you a little digi version for your scrapbook pages. It co-ordinates with KimBs new kit Spring Passion…
