no power, will create….
OMG! Im so glad our power is back on. One more game of scrabble and I’d a lost my mind! I hope you are all fairing well thru the aftermath of nasty Ike! Our winds were SO bad today! There are power lines down everywhere! Sparks flying off the house 2 doors down. My porch swing canopy is ruined! BLUH!
anyway, I spent the first hour or so of no power enjoying the quiet and made a card. Unfortunately, about an hour is all the quiet I got because the batteries died in the ninetendo ds’s and on the portable dvd player which meant the kids had NOTHING to do! lol… Scrabble, scrabble, and MORE scrabble! Are pokemon names REALLY allowed in scrabble? I think I was being cheated!
Anyway…
Here’s what I came up with…
its based on a card I had cut out of a magazine a few years back. No idea what magazine sorry! LOL
Supplies:
- white cardstock
- green cardstock
- ink
- patterned paper
- needle/thread
- flower
- brad
- metal o rings
- stretchy rope
- stamp
- tape
- adhesive
- craft wire
- SU Pastel Chalks
TO MAKE:
Cut green cardstock to 5×7 inches
white card stock trim to 4 3/4 x 6 3/4
cut pattern to 4 x 4
chalk edges of white cardstock
my flower was yellow, which I didnt want, so I used my green ink to dye it green to match the cardstock.
I then inked the edges of the patterned paper and green cardstock with the green ink.
layer green cardstock, white cardstock, patterned paper. Attach with permanent adhesive
use craft wire to attach o rings and then stitch around patterend paper
once stitched I like to use tape on the back to secure the thread ends,
Tie on the stretchy cord, attach flower and ask the helper if it looks ok…
stamp on sentiment, and whalllahhhhhh…

Oh wow very nice cards!!!!!!!lol about the cards..last year we had floods here in Newy and my toddler was a bub..and 2 days without power was horrid..it was winter and freezing we went and bought a generator we were that desperate..lol
