Happy Pajama Day!

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Ok, so, is it pajama day?  Really?  I have no idea, but Bug swears today is pajama day.  You would think they would send some kind of note home, to let parents know it is ok for today.  Did they? NOPE.  So, I guess I will sit here and see if the school calls in a minute telling me to come get this child. LOL…

So what IS pajama day?

Apparently, besides from being TODAY, it is the day where you can where your pajamas to school!

I finally got my cards for the OCT swap done.  They will be going out in the mail today.  But you should’ve saw me yesterday!  I had ink from fingertip to elbow!  AND!  I spilt stupid embossing powder EVERYWHERE!  UGH what a freakin mess!

I cant decide if I like em or not!  I didnt have any Christmasy paper so I made this using pics of my Christmas tree from last year, and my new Inky Edges Overlay Masks…  The ribbon I got at Joann’s in Chicago.  The tag is inked up with SU!, Distress, and Encore inks.  And altered with tissue paper and mod podge.

On the side….

I was so sad when I fell asleep last night.  I was watching Anderson Cooper, when it came on about Jennifer Hudsons family being murdered.

How awful is that!  I cant imagine how her spirit must be broken right now.  And they killed her nephew too.  Soooo sad!  Im sorry if saying this offends anyone, but I really hope in my heart, that there is a special area in Hell reserved just for whoever killed that 7 yr old baby.  My heart goes out to her and whats left of her family.

Banana Split Cake

Ingredients

  • graham cracker crust to cover 9 x 15 pan with rim
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine*
  • 2 cups powder sugar*
  • 2 eggs*
  • 1 tsp vanilla*
  • 2 sliced bananas
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple, WELL drained
  • 1 large container whipped topping
  • garnish: nuts and cherries

Directions

  1. Prepare your crust and cool
  2. Beat the margarine, sugar, eggs, vanilla until it is like pudding*
  3. Spread over crust.
  4. Place remaining ingredients in layers over the pudding layer in order listed.
  5. Chill overnight

*Note: You can substitute 2 boxes of vanilla pudding instead of step 3.  To do this, put 2 boxes of pudding, one can of eagle brand sweetened condensed milk and milk (as per pudding directions minus  one cup.)

To make the crust:

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups graham-cracker crumbs
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Combine graham-cracker crumbs, sugar and melted butter. Mix well. Press firmly in un-buttered pan. Want thicker crust, double the ingredients.  Bake in moderate oven at 375° F for about 8 minutes or till edge is lightly browned. Cool.

*NOTE: for the best crumbs, put graham crackers in a baggy and roll with rolling pin.
