Because, it makes me happy…

Not a lot to post about today.  I have a moment of quiet time, and really just wanted to pop on and say HELLO.  Yes, I’ve missed talking to you. lol…

Seems like the world is aligning itself and everyone, including me, are preparing for summer!  I can not believe my kids will be out of school in about 2 weeks.  My full days of freedom are on the eve of hibernation.  It kind of makes me sad.  It kind of makes me happy too though.  I think I’m looking forward to spending some family time.   Today I am anyway.  Ask me again in a month and we’ll see what I have to say. lol…  I look at them, my brood, and wonder where exactly has the time gone?

My son, nearly thirteen.  A pre-man.  A young man-thang.  *sigh*  He not only is getting a “teen” number, but he is growing hair on his face, his legs, and his CHEST!  What happened to the wee lil fellow who used to pile in my lap and sigh with contentment, “Mommy, I love you”.  Those days are long gone, and have been replaced with “Can I have” and “I need”  “a lock on my door” WHAT?!  NO WAY!  Forget bringing sexy back Justin Timberlake, I would be more happy if someone just returned my loving baby!

I look at Bug and I get really depressed. Crazy right?  The little munchkin that used to constantly be into ‘something’ now prefers to hang out in her room, and chat with her classmates on WebKins.com  The child that used to climb in my  lap and chat with me about EVERYTHING (literally…)  now just replies “I’ll watch it later mom, I’m talking to ‘the girls’.”  Ok.  My baby who used to munch on ANYTHING that closely resembled being edible, now tells me she is too fat and wishes she could be back at 80 pounds again.  Huh?  I wish you were 30 pounds again sug, but I’m fairly certain its for different reasons!  I miss my BABY!   lol…

buggers

So what does the title of this post have to do with being bummed out about my kids?  You’re surely wondering by now, right?

Well, because even though my kids are growing up… the little things can still make me smile.

I saw this on a website and I seriously got all giddy.

There is nothing like getting slapped in the face with you’re own childhood that can make your greater appreciate the childhood of your kids!

I can NOT wait!

Until next time…

  • I can relate:) My baby is going to kindergarten in the fall and my oldest will be the big second grader. It is nice to see them grow and change but a part of you will always miss them when they are small . Best wishes!

  • Love the now and then photos, they do seem to grow up in an instant, don’t they? Thanks for the heads up about “Where the Wild Things Are”, it looks terrific!

They do seem to grow up so fast. My baby is turning 4 next month and already argues with me on why he CANNOT drive the car. WHAT???

I think I am gonna hang out here for a minute and listen to Edward’s lullaby.

Uh Yeah, this ‘growing up thing’ they keep doing – they’ve got to stop that. It messes with us Moms. We just get used to them, then they abandon us. *grin*
