What a big week!  Incase you don’t follow my facebook or twitter I just wanted to show you the new baby of the house!  Meet Gump!  as in Forest Gump.  And yes he really IS that smart!

Isn’t he cute?!  LOL!  That lil’ tongue just hangs out all the time.

I forgot how hyper pug pups are.  Oh my gosh, he is a little ball of non-stop energy…

and he just wants to see if Sweetz has a “ding ding”  and she just wants to bite his face off…  LOL  She tolerates his taunting and activeness until he gets his face near where she thinks it shouldn’t be – then in a 1/2 second she tucks her tail and snaps.  Its almost so fast you miss it.  So I’ve started calling her “Ninja Dog”  LOL

So we got the Gumpster on Thursday evening, and he had his first vet check up as a Cates on Friday morning.  I was really worried about that tongue hanging out all the time and one side of his face is really droopy.  So I had her check to see if maybe he was retarded or maybe had had a stroke.  As of right now, we have the ALLS OK light.  She did several neurological tests on him and he did ok.  She did give us a list of things to keep an eye on and told us to note anything “off” we notice.  He got all his shots because he had only ever had his puppy rabies, so he got tons of meds yeseterday, and luckily he was heartworm clean.  He did have a slight case of worms, but they should be gone in a week or so.

I have to say he is the whiniest neediest dog I have ever seen, and I have a sneaking suspicion this is why he has been given away 3 times in the last few month.  If he notices there are no people in the room with him he cries so loud.  It really freaks him out.  He cries when he is hungry, and cries when he wants to go outside.  I dont mean little whimpers, I mean he was upstairs and I was downstairs with a tv and fan on and heard him like he was standing right beside me loud!  I thought he was completely house broke, BUT woke up to about 10 surprises in the retreat this morning, so Im thinking a week or so of crate training will take care of that.  The worm medicine could also be the cause of that.  He is also very skiddish of quick movements and unexpected noises, which is kind of funny since when he first got here I thought he was deaf! 

I’ve noticed Sweetz likes to watch him when she knows he is doing something he shouldn’t be.  Like when he gets on the couch.  She just kind of looks at him and smiles – I picture her thinking “ahahaha- boy, mommas fixin to get youuuuuuuuuu…”  LOL!!!  She’s a little instigator too.  I saw her last night, give him one of Sis’s teddy bears – then get Sis’s attention so she would notice.  Of course Sis flipped out and Gump got the “BAD DOG” speech.  Sweetz just watching wide eyed the entire time.  Yep, the next lil while is going to be very entertaining.  hahah!

Today is the day!  Mrs Mel is on a plane and coming to America!  26 hours on a plane, that I’m glad IM not having to take!  LOL  See you in NASHVILLE girlfriend!  Here’s to the next 3 weeks of site seeing and FUN!  whoohoo!!!
