cards, and well…

More cards.  LOL!

I got up at the “butt-crack of dawn” and was a craftin’ lil Bunny before anyone else was even awake in my house!  I told Jodiann earlier when we were chatting on the phone that I really think I “focus” better early early, BEFORE my coffee has kicked in.  Because once my mind gets all woke up, I’m full aware of all the “stuff” on my “to-do” list, and I just cant focus on one thing.  Especially one thing that’s not a “Need to”.  And lets face it, making cards is a “want to”.  But I did wake up early, blew through email, and made these cards that have been sitting drug out on my desk for OVER A WEEK!

The sketch I had made looked pretty simple all drawn out in pencil.  When I got to the actual creating the card though, seemed like NOTHING wanted to line up for me!  LOL! {At this point, I realized I probably should have had at least a half a cuppa coffee.  I mean, me wielding a big ole guillotine paper trimmer, half asleep, with NO coffee is kind of scary!

Supplies were pretty simple.   Circle and Scallop Punches ( I used SU! punches but these are great alternatives).  Adhesive, a stamp (I used Pun Fun from SU!), Stazon, white cardstock, patterned paper ( I used Celebrate 8×8 pad by ATD) and my new most favorite ink which is made by Colorbox.

the first thing was deciding where I wanted my papers to be, so I trimmed them out.

added my scallop

After I punched my hole I lined up the paper on the cardstock and lightly traced the hole.  This was so I could get good placement for my stamped image.

Stamped my image in black Stazon,

then colored it in with my Colorbox Chalk inks, and colored pencils.

I wanted something to kind of “draw attention” to my stamped images so I added a bright “trim” along the right side.  And also a scalloped cut trim along the bottom to kind of, make the layers “pop”.  It needed “something” because all that hard work and details just blended together and got lost!

I love how it turned out!

In the very end, I went back and rounded the corners. LOL!

Whats the VIP for?

Hey guys, just a quick note today.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about stuff and I realized how much I miss “teaching”.    I taught Paint Shop Pro for a few years before I ever got into scrapbooking, and I really think I miss it!  So I am really hoping to incorporate a little more of that into my “online work”.

With that said, I just wanted to remind you guys about my new classes available

BCdc_CardClass_Jan2010

This quick and simple card class will teach you how to create 4 cards using a minimal amount of supplies (only 3 sheets of cardstock to make FOUR complete cards!). These cards are a variety of shapes and will fit into a standard 4.25 x 5.5 card envelope.  The example cards (above) use Stampin’ Up! stamps and ink, but ANY products you have will work.

Its even available as January 2010 Card Class  and January 2010 Card Class – for Demos  The difference is what’s included.

I have gotten a few emails asking me what’s the “VIP” I mention in the product description on the January 2010 Card Class, so I wanted to take a sec and tell you about that, even though its really not ready.

I am adding a VIP area to the site.  For a low monthly fee, VIP members will get discounts in the BCdc store, lots of my digi-stuff FREE, some tutorials, and a “private” space thats for VIP MEMBERS only…  I had originally hoped to launch the BCdc VIP area on Jan 1st.  And in truth, it IS set up and ready to go.  The only problem is I, for the LIFE of me, can not figure out the software I chose to install for the “tutorial” part of the vip area, so – I am thinking I am  going to have to just delete the work I have done so far, and try something else.  If you would like to go ahead and sign up as a VIP, just email me and I’ll get you set up (at a discount since the community isn’t up yet)  Other wise, I’m shooting for MARCH 15th as my VIP Launch.  Hopefully, I’ll have time to re-set up the community by then with software I “get”.   LOL!

Anyhoo, that’s what the VIP area is.  If you’re interested just email me.

As for the card class…
My friend Mary sent me some cards she made using the class!  How cute did these turn out?!
