Im taking a break from taking down all my Christmas decorations to rest my back.  YES, technically Im procrastinating again, but I have gotten a good start on my day, I promise!  LOL…

Mornin Mugshots return!

We used to do posts at DSO called the Mornin Mugshot.  We hadnt done it in quite some time, and sadly I missed it!  Funny how the little odd things satisfy us!  I started the game again today, so swing by DSOs forum, and show us your mornin  mug everyday!

This is actually my second pot already this morning.  I really think I need to cut back a little.  I’ve been drinking 3-4 pots a day.

Playing with my camera….

I really hope to learn my camera this year.  I dont mean just aim and click.  I mean really learn how to use it.  I see gorgeous crystal clear photos everywhere and WISH my pictures were that good.  They either are off color, or not clear.  And its not the camera.

My camera is the

Canon PowerShot G9 12.1MP Digital Camera with 6x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom

I have literally had it for a YEAR and have still NOT played with it enough to understand/know how to use all the features!  I”m so mad at myself.  My goal for this year is to take a photography class, and invest in some lenses.

There are tons of things I don’t understand, like when and when NOT to use the flash.  I had someone tell me the other day they NEVER use the flash.  HUH?  All the pictures I take without the flash come out “flakey”  like the pic isnt clear there are little jpg “artifacts”.

I saw some awesome photos on a Project 365 blog I was looking at last night, that used the Color Accent mode in their Canon.  They didnt have the same model as mine, but I thought surely mine would have that mode too, and I drug out the Manual…

SURE ENOUGH!

The Color Accent mode will take the photo in black and white, leaving the color you told it to accent!  Do you know how much time that saves!  I love detail colorization photos, but they are tedious and take for ever to do manually.  Not anymore!  thank you Canon!!!

Side Notes

I wanted to give a shout out to  my friend Lani!  DSO’s lil Princess is having a BABY!!  YAY Lani!!!!  I cant tell you how PLEASED I am someone I know is having a baby!  DH is getting tired of me buying baby stuff for the dog!!!!  lol!!

and on a sad note…

Our Teriann has lost her mom.  She passed away yesterday after being in the hospital throughout the entire holiday season.  If you could spare a moment to swing by Teriann’s blog, Teriann Hanks, I know she would appreciate it.  She could use some prayers and digital hugs at this time.

i hope you had a great new years eve.  i spent mine nuzzled on the couch with my kids, watching the ball drop in NYC via CNN.  

A new month, a new year, and TONS of paperwork.  I decided today I need a secretary.  Im trying to get all my paperwork together and can find nothing. LOL.  I spent a good 10 minutes thinking “now, where WOULD I have put that one” for every single file I needed today.   lol…

lol.  I have been in my office since 7am doing payroll and starting  my end of the year paperwork.  I came out at 6:30.  Too many hours for this old body.  Must pace myself.  Its not going anywhere.  It can get done when it gets done…. yes yes, I know.
